Riding the Yellow Myth
by: Eric Fabian
MOST accounts about the late President Cory Aquino by people who were young adults during the time of the 1986 EDSA People Power uprising are heaps of praises–as if Cory was heaven sent to save the country from the villainy of Marcos.
The truth is, as much as the late Ninoy’s widow have been nice and generous to her relative, friends and associates, she is just as human as the rest of us, prone to social pressure, flawed and not immune to mistakes or oversight. #OpinYon #opinion #CoryAquino

Here’s a good one for ya. A conversation with a taxi driver that was one of the soldiers involved in the coup against Cory. Enrile and Ramos were the organizers, Noynoy was shot but only injured (a state secret) but all his security team was killed. He survived because he played dead (maybe not so dumb after all.
Heres the best bit. The coup was put down because Cory called her American friends and they sent troops to put it down. I cant verify it as its the word of a cabbie but he seemed genuine to me.
